Nice Surprise..!

No picture with this blog today (overcoming a chest infection so feeling a bit lazy). I was re-potting my african violets today and found a number of new plants (which was nice). When moving plants about I have a tendency to snap off a leaf here and there and just shove them back into the compost at the edge of the pot (stalk first obviously). Then I forget about them…

Just goes to show how genuinely easy these critter are to grow from leaf cuttings! I also receive a few emails on my website (www.cloudviolets.co.uk) every month asking about the best fertilizer. I must admit that I have never bothered and advise instead on re-potting them every few months as I suspect that african violets like having their roots tickled (at least that’s what they tell me when no one is around…).
